Weekly Gifts to the Glory of God

Members of Augustana have an opportunity each and every week to make a gift to the glory of God, and in honor of or in memory of a special person, or in Thanksgiving for Gods blessings. The following information is not a change from our current procedure, but rather a reminder of the process. For some, it may be new information.

Altar Flowers.
The flowers themselves are a gift from you to the church. they will remain in the church for the Santa Misa, and for any subsequent services that week. Following services, they may be broken down, re-arranged and taken to shut-ins or others as an _expression of the caring of the congregation. If you would like the flowers to be given to certain persons or groups, please speak to Bill Riggs in the office to make arrangements. The weekly donation for altar flowers is $25.00.

Sanctuary Candle.
The candle is placed in the Sanctuary Lamp on Sunday morning and burns for seven days. The weekly donation for the sanctuary candle is $2.00.

Bread and Wine for the Eucharist.
The worship and music committee periodically purchases wine and communion wafers from a supplier. If you would like to bake your own bread for communion, please consult with the church office, as not all bread recipes work well for communion bread. The weekly donation for bread and wine for the Eucharist costs $5.00 for a regular Sunday service.

Designated Advance Giving (DAG).
The DAG, is done through the ELCA, and either supports missionaries in Namibia, or minority seminarians. You may designate either one of the two. A weekly contribution of $15.00 is suggested, but any amount is welcome.

Weekly Accessibility Gift.
Members of the congregation may contribute the weekly accessibility gift of any amount. The gift goes directly to the accessibility and renovation fund. The amount of this gift is entirely up to you.

Signing up on the calendar

On the bulletin board outside the office there is a sign-up calendar for each month of 2004. You may sign up at any time for a date that is special to you, or any date that you would like to reserve. Please write or print very clearly your dedication when you sign-up. This information will be used for the weekly church bulletins. Then, put your check or cash in the weekly offering, or turn them in to the office. Please note what your donation is designated for on your check.
